Toby Kleinman , JD, is a partner at Adler & Kleinman of New Brunswick , and an associate editor of the Journal of Child Custody. Ms. Kleinman consults on issues involving complex child custody, abuse issues and domestic violence and has done so in over 25 states. She has litigated these issues in numerous states as well. She co-teaches a course at the Harvard School of Public Health entitled "Social Policy and Legal Dilemmas: Child Custody in the Context of Domestic Violence"; in addition, Ms. Kleinman has had articles published in the New Jersey Law Journal regarding the impact of domestic violence on children; marital torts; and issues with regard to child protective laws. Most recently Ms Kleinman founded the Center for Protection of Children a not for profit educational corporation dedicated to protecting children from risk of exposure to sexual, emotional and physical domestic violence which is also providing affordable clinical services and evaluations to individuals, families and courts. (CPC) is a non-profit, educational institution dedicated to protecting children from risk of exposure to sexual, emotional and physical domestic violence. Execution The CPC will utilize every appropriate means consistent with our non-profit corporate charter including but not limited to the: - preparation and distribution of child protection educational materials;
- advancement of the welfare of children who are at risk or who may become at risk or are the subject of court proceedings by providing: clinical services and evaluations for such children and their families; child protection training to attorneys, advocates, judges, magistrates, legal and medical staff involved in such cases; expert witness services for the purpose of educating finders of fact and law about child protection;
- establishment of a center to provide child protection training for psychologists, other mental health professionals, judges, lawyers and social workers as well as the general public. The center will participate at educational institutions, institutes, conferences and provide workshops, training clinics, training programs, and make presentations to the printed media, radio and television;
- establishment of an institute for multidisciplinary research in the areas of child welfare and protection. Research will be conducted by CPC staff and in partnership with qualified researchers in the field and at academic institutions;
- promotion of and/or partnering with other recognized charitable organizations that are engaged in protection of children.
