The Battered Mothers Custody Conference is an annual, weekend-long event that addresses the pattern of serious legal injustices encountered by battered women who approach the family/divorce court system seeking protection for themselves and their children from an abusive spouse or partner.  It brings together the nation’s top experts on intimate partner abuse, child abuse, and child custody litigation and protective issues, who volunteer their time at the BMCC to educate the public and to support, consult, and network with battered mothers from across the country.

The BMCC XI starts Friday, May 6th at 10 a.m. and ends 12 noon on Sunday, May 8th. Conference sessions will be held all day and into the evening on Friday and Saturday nights.

A detailed schedule will be available in the near future at

The conference is all-volunteer, and all speakers and staff donate their services.  We rely on registration fees, donations, and fund raisers to keep the conference running.  We do our best to admit everyone to the conference, regardless of financial ability to pay.  We also, whenever possible, help some mothers with lodging and travel costs.  But we can do this only with your help!

100% of all donations go to defraying the expenses of running the conference, which is an all-volunteer effort.

2.  Purchase bulbs and flowers from Flower Power Fund Raising. 50% of all sales will be donated to the BMCC XII!  Go to

3.  If you are coming to the conference, bring along an item to donate to the BMCC SILENT AUCTION.  Excellent items to contribute include gift cards, arts and crafts items, food baskets, candles, jewelry, tote bags, etc.

4.  Purchase an ad in the BMCC XII printed program.  For details, see

5.  Become a Co-Sponsor of the BMCC XII.  Co-sponsorship fee of $125 includes an exhibition table for the weekend of the conference, listing in the inside front cover of the BMCC XI conference program, and a quarter-page ad.  If you or your organization are interested in co-sponsoring, please contact the conference chair, Dr. Mo Hannah, at or; 518-210-2487.
